BUT GETTING BETTER
In May, the number of folks living in SF and getting paid for working went up by 5700 - which is great since it is so damned expensive to live here. We're still about 50,000 short of the number of people living in SF with a paychech pre-pandemic.
Across the Bay Area, we have about 3.8m jobs, which is just over 300,000 shy of where we were pre-pandemic. Those who appear to know what they are doing (certainly not me) say it may take well into 2022 for things to be "normal" again in the job world, and it appears the recovery of jobs is uneven throughout the US:
