MORTGAGE RATES TICK DOWN AGAIN, DESPITE FED ACTION

The rate for a 30-year mortgage went down another 4 basis points this past week to 6.27 percent despite the recent Fed action to raise overnight lending rates by 50 basis points. Current rates are above the 30-year average by about three quarters of a point.
