Sea Bowl to Close in Pacifica After 60 Years

It opened in March 1959 and was so swamped with bowlers it stayed open 24 hours a day for 3 days.  As an iconic building along Highway 1 in Pacifica, we will surely miss it.  The owners have stated that they are retiring.  I've taken family trips with the kids here, and it was hella (yes, I just used the word "hella") fun.

Not at all sure why they are not selling the business, but it is quite possible that they don't want to part with the land or tie it up in anyway.  The land is across highway 1 from the ocean, and it is rumored that the owners also own the land on the ocean side of highway 1 as well.
